Do You Believe in Magic?

I probably do, given that I have such an overly imaginative mind to begin with. I love fairy tales and fantasy, so I knew one day I'd create a card based on those themes. This is it!

The unicorn sticker is special to me because I received it as part of a sticker set that my older sister had given to me as a gift. It was perfect for the theme of the card, and of course it definitely helped that it was so shiny and eye-catching.

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away...

It's the Little Things

My English teacher's birthday passed a few days ago. My friends and I decided to collectively get her something special, since she's such a great teacher, so we each made a little something and combined them into one gift. Of course, I volunteered to make the birthday card. :)

I really like the fact that the simplicity of the card draws the eye toward the card's focal point, which is the hand-colored flower in the foreground. After we gave her the gift on her birthday, she called my friends and I over to personally thank us for our handmade gifts!

Flowers are beautiful.

Don't worry...

...be happy! Even though I love to make cards for specific occasions, like birthdays or holidays, sometimes I'm just in the mood to make a feel-good card that doesn't necessarily serve a specific purpose, like this "Happy" card.

I can't ever remind myself enough to smile more and enjoy the little things in life. Having this card on my shelf will definitely help me remember.

So sparkly!

Birthdays, birthdays

One of my very good friends, Emi, has her birthday coming up soon, so I had to make sure that I made a special card for her. The card itself isn't very large, but I personalized it by writing her name into the background and by including a little origami figure. She's half Japanese, and she loves anything and everything related to Japanese culture! Luckily, folding origami is also one of my favorite pastimes, so I had more than enough origami to spare.

Happy birthday Emi!

Give without expecting a return...

Winter break is so close and I have so many plans made! But before I head off to break, I wanted to make sure that I gave a little something to my three best friends. They are all receiving necklaces that I had bought in China; I couldn't resist buying them because I loved how each necklace was different from all the others.

Of course, my inner scrapbooker also wouldn't let me use store-bought tags, so naturally I made my own. :)
